Wine lovers have long made a pilgrimage to Grgich Hills Estate since Miljenko “Mike” Grgich’s Chardonnay beat the “best of France” at the famed 1976 Paris Tasting and he then joined with Austin Hills to open their family owned and operated winery. In the late 1800’s Jean Marie Truchard arrived in the US from France and with gold bullion, purchased 500 acres in Texas with the idea of making wine to serve the local community of Cat Springs. The vineyards were planted and the winery was built but as the grapes began to ripen they rotted on the vine due to the humidity of the region. After generations of farming and raising cattle the family purchased property in Napa in the early 1970’s. John Anthony Truchard was raised in his family’s tradition of farming and worked hand-in-hand with his father learning the wine business. It was during this time he learned to enjoy the hard work, dedication, and focus required to produce world-class grapes that yield world-class wines.

The Corley family has proudly celebrated over thirty-five years of excellence in grape-growing. They take special pride in the stature and recognition as a winegrower and wine producers of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on five small vineyard sites.
Representing five generations of agriculture, they are a boutique family-run business whose premium wines are estate-bottled. They produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc and Rose wines, priding themselves on offering informative tours and tastings in a rural/casual atmosphere. The view from the tasting room across the vineyards towards the Mayacamas Mountains is spectacular.
Since being founded in 1994, Paraduxx has earned acclaim as the only winery solely devoted to stylish Napa Valley blends. Artfully crafted to appeal to the modern palate, the visionary blends of the Paraduxx portfolio have established a reputation for their bold, expressive character and their food-friendly sophistication. The centerpiece of the Paraduxx winery is a unique 10-sided fermentation building inspired by traditional round barns. Flanking the fermentation building are two symmetrical barrel cellars, partially set below grade to allow gravity flow of the fermented wine to oak barrels for aging.

Their Tasting Room is housed in a 155 year old barn, nestled among majestic sequoia trees. Recently renovated, but keeping its original character, you’ll find a knowledgeable and inviting staff eager to make your experience memorable.
In the early 1970’s Silver Oak Cellars began with a simple philosophy to focus production on one varietal- Cabernet Sauvignon. This philosophy also encompassed the idea that Cabernet Sauvignon should be fully developed with a velvety soft texture on the day it is released for sale, leading to an extensive aging program where the wine is aged 24 to 30 months in American oak barrels, then cellared another 18 months in the bottle. Their Cabernets are allowed to fully develop a vivid bouquet and softness that comes from lengthy bottle age.

In 1968 Eugene and Catherine Trefethen purchased seven farms surrounding a magnificent but run-down 19th-century winery in southern Napa Valley. The couple’s intention was to sell all their grapes, but in 1973, their son John and his wife Janet produced Trefethen Vineyards’ first commercial wine. Just three years later, the winery’s 1976 Chardonnay earned “Best Chardonnay in the World” honors at the 1979 Gault Millau World Wine Olympics in Paris.
Encompassing 383 contiguous acres, of which 270 acres are planted, the vineyard is a series of hills and valleys, and contains a variety of soils: clay, shale, sandstone, volcanic rock and ash. The various combinations of terrain, geology, and marine-moderated temperatures provide unique wine-growing conditions. Currently the vineyard grows 10 different grape varieties, making it one of the most diverse estate vineyards in California. Only 20% of the grapes from the Truchard Estate Vineyard are reserved for Truchard wines. The wines are hand-crafted using traditional wine making techniques, and exemplify the high quality fruit of this unique estate. They are truly: “wines with a sense of place”. Truchard wines have garnered much critical appreciation. Wines from the 1994, 1996, and 1997 vintages have been included in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines of the world. The winery was selected as the “Estate Winery of the Year” by Wine & Spirits in 1997 and 1998.
